It’s a good week for all the new music lovers out there. I have picked the six new releases from last Friday that I like the most. These are my songs of the week:
My Way by Clavin Harris is a great new track by the Scottish producer. After the hit single This Is What You Came For featuring Rihanna, this might be his second success this year, this time featuring himself as a singer as well.
“Baby, I’m not made of stone, it hurts
Loving you the way I do, it hurts”
The powerful voice from Read All About It is back – Emeli Sandé. After quite some time of silence, the new single is called Hurts and it is a very beautiful and personal song. It’s the first song to be taken from her upcoming album Long Live The Angels. It will be out in November.
Handsome Ghost is an electronic indie band from Boston and their newest single is called Promises. The song is from their The Brilliant Glow EP, which was released last Friday. All in all, it’s a strong song, sounding anthemic and smooth.
Are You Ready? This is the question the Scottish indie band Prides asks in their new single with exactly that name. With this brand new track they continue the catchy and strong sounf of their debut album The Way Back Up. If Are You Ready? is showing us, what the upcoming second album will be like, it looks like it will be at least equally as good as the first one.
“Find every way to make
A crucial mistake and
Deja vu, return to blue
Even in my dreams, I can’t win”
This is a part of the chorus of Even in my dreams, I Can’t Win. The single is by Bad Suns, an American rock band. It is one of these depressing but still upbeat and somehow happy songs. You all know I like that.
Heavens Above is the last song on this week’s playlist. The British psychedelic rock band released the song last Friday, announcing a brand new double a-side single that will be released in October. The song sounds a little chaotic, but it overall it has a great sound to it and I like it a lot.
So, that is it again. Do you enjoy all the brand new Songs of the Week. Which one is your favourite? Please leave a comment below, I love hearing your opinions! And let me know what your favourite song is at the moment, I’m curious.
